Office Magnets To Create Order In The Office
Some people might say that the water cooler or coffee bar is an office magnet. The same might be said of a pretty receptionist. They certainly attract a large number of employees. Aside from humorous refrigerator magnets expressing a big variety of sentiments, there are other uses for office magnets.
A lot of office surfaces are metal and magnets are a convenient way to keep notes and papers in view. Of course we have all seen the overloaded magnets that send the papers flying off every time someone walks by. There are better options available. Strip magnets can hold larger items. Just peel the adhesive and apply them to calendars and larger things like dry erase boards. Some magnets are equipped with clips. I have one at home that holds my grocery list to the fridge.
I saw some pretty cool push pin magnets. They are incredibly strong permanent magnets. One of them will actually hold up a hammer so your papers should not present a challenge. They are made of neodymium, the strongest rare earth magnet available. They look like a regular push pin so they do not obscure your papers. They also will stick to fabric covered cubicles or magnetic paint.
Other uses for magnets in the office include, coat hooks, picture hangers, map holders, and magnetic strips to keep tools like scissors, metal clips, and staple removers within easy reach. I love the paper clip containers with magnetic lids. I know I am not alone in having spilled an entire container of paper clips. It is so much easier to pick them up quickly with the magnetic lid.
So many people have magnetic business cards now. They can easily be attached to the side of a metal filing cabinet. When you need to contact someone, their information will be right at your fingertips.
Every break room could use some humorous refrigerator magnets. There is a whole line with funny sayings from the TV show “The Office.” Even if you’re not a fan of the show, they’ll bring a smile to your face and who couldn’t use a laugh in the middle of a stressful work day? One of my co workers had one on her computer that said “Brain function down. Mental upgrade in progress.” It never failed to make me smile.
Hey, we all have to work, so why not make the workplace convenient and fun? Get some humorous office magnets to boost morale and some functional ones to make life easier.
